In an ever-changing world, the challenges we face and the choices we have to make are which shape us.

When I started my company (Du Nord Projects) in 2014, I had no idea what to expect and how it would evolve over time. I had a vision on where I wanted to move towards, as a person and as an entrepreneur, and started walking the path that was in front of me. Conquering obstacles, setting goals and seizing opportunities. Having a dot on the horizon without an overly planned way of going about business.
I think that's a good thing.

Starting as a craftsmanship journal & marketing endeavours, over time it evolved into a brick-and-mortar space with a curation of makers and garments (Store Du Nord) and is now expanding with a new online platform, The Rain Room.

Those who know me, know I move towards where my energy flows. In a world filled with inspiration, I seek to find the seeds that'll one day show me an abundant garden. A bit of nature rooted in craft, function and values.

The Rain Room is the result of my personal love for functional garments, suited for any weather condition anywhere in the world. Dealing with the ever-changing climate, adventuring into remote areas to escape my comfort zone, and being well equipped for it.
It's a joy to challenge yourself in this, if you enjoy being outdoors.
At the same time, being in the fashion industry for more than 20 years, I also want to feel and look good while dealing with torrential rains and other heavy weather conditions.
These thoughts, ideas and preferences are at the root of The Rain Room and will be the driving force in what I'm building.

The choice I had to make was, how to fit it into my company.
Being limited in space at our store, both in square meters as in styles on display, I needed to navigate towards a solution that would allow all aspects to flourish.
The best option was to build this online platform, of which I hope to grow it into your go-to destination for rainwear.

Having not done typical e-commerce in years, it was a bit of challenge to wrap my head around it and make it work in such a way that it caters best to you as consumer and at the same time aligns with my vision and values.
Creating a conscious way of consuming is a big challenge in this industry but I believe we can install this in a way that you normally wouldn't expect when ordering online.

I believe much awareness comes from being informed in the right way with the right information. This is something I strive for with my company and what we will work hard for to achieve and accommodate with The Rain Room, meaning that you are allowed to expect more from us than your average online retailer.

It will be an intense journey for the team and I, where we will grow step by step and turn this platform into a marvel of online conscious consuming.
Will there be mistakes? No doubt.
Will there be solutions? Absolutely.

Making the choice to build this platform is what helps me create more value for you. It will be a challenge for sure, but an enjoyable one.
